Based in Iceland, Jenna Gottlieb<\/a> is a freelance journalist and Iceland guidebook author. She has written for publications including the Associated Press, CNN Travel and Quartz. Before moving to Iceland in 2012, she worked in New York on the staffs of Pensions & Investments, American Banker and Private Equity International. Jenna is the author of the Moon Iceland guidebook, published by Hachette; the 3rd edition was published May 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her first paycheck:<\/strong> \u201cIt was in 1994 and probably around $150 after taxes. I worked at a coffeehouse the summer after my junior year of high school in Queens, New York, and continued throughout my senior year. I intended to save most of the money for when I went away for college but spent it on typical teenage nonsense.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
